The second day of three-day annual Gunadala Mary Matha festival was celebrated in a grand manner on Thursday. The devotees turned up in good number to offer prayers to Mary Matha atop Gunadala hill. They offered flowers and coconuts at the shrine and visited the grotto atop the hillock. Many devotees got their heads tonsured to propitiate the divinity.

The special places identified for tonsuring and lighting candles on the shrine premises and at the grotto were packed with the devotees. A team of devotees offered special prayers at the shrine seeking health to those who were suffering from diseases.

Cultural programmes performed on the school grounds enthralled the audience. Bishops of Srikakulam and Nellore dioceses A. Innaiah and M. D. Prakasam, respectively, participated as chief guests on the second day of the festivities. Bishop Mallavarapu Prakash of Vijayawada diocese and others offered the Holy Mass.

Chancellor J. John Raju, Father K. Sebastian and others offered holy mass in the afternoon.
