Chennur constituency blessed with launch of schemes

  • New PHC built at a cost of Rs.32 lakh inaugurated
  • SRSP water released into Bayyanavagu reservoir

KODAKANDLA (WARANGAL): It was a real Deepavali for the people in Palakurthi and Kodakandla in Chennur constituency.

They were excited with the Deepavali gifts from their MLA Dugyala Srinivasa Rao and Major Irrigation Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah. The Minister laid the foundation for housing to the poor under Indiramma scheme which aims at helping the 94 beneficiaries. Later, he inaugurated a new Primary Health Centre constructed at a cost of Rs. 32 lakhs.

The Minister also formally released water from SRSP into Bayyanavagu balancing reservoir that was completed with Rs. 12 crores. The reservoir with a capacity to store 0.5 TMC of water, besides irrigating 250 acres will also address the drinking water needs in surrounding villages.

    Community needs

Addressing public meetings at Palakurthi and Kodakandla, Ponnala Lakshmaiah said the housing scheme was taken up with prestige by the Congress Government. Unlike in the

Past, where four to five beneficiaries were selected from each village, the Government decided to accord the benefit to all genuinely poor persons in each village. "Cutting across political lines and religious lines, we are selecting the beneficiaries.," he said.
