Collector wants estimates prepared

The district administration is contemplating construction of multi-storeyed building complex near Swaraj Maidan here. The officials are planning to construct the proposed complex in place of irrigation and judicial officers' quarters located near Swaraj Maidan. District Collector Peeyush Kumar, on Saturday, felt that the staff quarters of Irrigation and judicial officials located on South and West site of Swaraj Maidan could be used for the proposed housing complex, and it could be used as staff quarters for irrigation, judicial officers and other departments' officials as well, he said, and asked the officials to prepare designs, plans and estimates to construct the complex.The road from State Guest House to Officers Canteen would be widened. And, for this, additional district judge quarters was coming in the way, some portion of the quarters would have to be pulled down. A transformer belonging to the Transco would be relocated to nearby irrigation land, he said.

Mr. Peeyush Kumar also wanted the officials to speed up repair works taken up in first and second blocks of the State Guest House. Four suits in first block would be renovated with modern facilities, and would be provided to state level officials.

The second block would be refurbished with latest flooring, ceiling, toilets, and electrical facilities as it would be used as accommodation for Chief Minister and Governor. Third block would also be remodelled, he said.

Joint Collector Gaurav Uppal, Municipal Commissioner G. Ravi Babu, District Judge A. Sankara Narayana, VGTM UDA Vice Chairman Y.S.B.S. Vittal, Transco S.E., Srikrishna, Irrigation S.E., Chandra Rao, R&B E.E., Raghavendra , and Sub Collector K. Dharma Reddy were present.
