KADAPA: Kadapa Mayor P. Ravindranath Reddy gave away cheques for Rs. 6.30 lakhs to Indiramma housing beneficiaries at Sarojini Nagar, here, on Tuesday.
He promised to sanction pucca houses to those living in dilapidated houses as it would be futile to undertake repairs to them. The Chief Minister assured sanction of Rs. 16 crore to improve facilities in the third ward, the Mayor said.
Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy directed Collector M.T. Krishna Babu to allot 50 acres of land each for Hindu crematorium, Muslim burial ground and Christian cemetery at Putlampalle, Mr. Ravindranath Reddy said. The government is extending specialised treatment costing Rs. 2 lakh, free of charge, to the poor under Rajiv Arogyasri and bearing transport charges from their houses to the hospital, he said.
