4,621 persons fail to pay their share
As many as 4,621 persons who have been allotted houses in 40 layouts under the JNNURM face cancellation of allotment as they did not pay their share.
The January 31 deadline for payment has been communicated though the media but since they have failed to pay their share, the same would be allotted to others, Municipal Commissioner M.V. Satyanarayana said in a statement. Of the 11,981 that have been allotted the houses, only 7,360 paid their share.
Majority of them belong to Allipuram Lorry Stand, Appannapalem, Kommadi K 1, K 3, Madhurawada M 1, Kapparada, Mantripalem, Pineapple Colony, Paradesivanipalem PP 1, Pedajalaripet, Pendurti, Pulagalavanipalem, Talarivaipalem.
Meanwhile, Mr. Satyanarayana who visited the houses constructed at Lankelapalem, Madinabagh and Talarivanipalem on Friday directed officials to get them ready for inauguration in March. Allotments should be made on lottery basis. Chief Engineer B. Jayarami Reddy said while the houses at Talaripalem were complete in all respects, at Lankelapalem internal roads and drinking water facilities would be completed on a war-footing. However, officials brought to the Commissioner’s notice the reluctance of some slum-dwellers to live in pucca houses.
