HYDERABAD: Two mask-wearing persons robbed a housewife of four tolas gold ornaments at knifepoint after sneaking into her house at Kushaiguda in the early hours of Saturday. The victim Eshwaramma, 35, her two daughters and niece were asleep when the robbers entered their portion on the second floor of a rented house at Moulali Housing Board Colony around 3.30 a.m., the Kushaiguda police said.

Her husband Raja Babu, a driver of APSRTC was away on duty. She told the police that `she woke up when the robbers pulled the chain from her neck. Then, they threatened her with a knife forcing her to collect jewellery from other inmates of the house and hand over to them'.

The Kushaiguda police, however, said there were contradictions in Eshwaramma's version and she could not explain how the thieves entered.
