Violation of hygiene norms alleged

HYDERABAD: `Alpha', `Bawarchi' and now it is Hotel `Mainland China' in Banjara Hills, which has been caught violating hygiene norms by the MCH health and sanitation officials on Saturday.

The official team led by Chief Veterinary Officer P. Venkateshwar Reddy inspected the specialised Chinese restaurant and found that the kitchen was unhygienic, personal hygiene of cooks very poor and food preservation facilities very bad.

There were also no proper preservation facilities for either cooked or raw material kept in the cold storage.

The following food items were picked up from the hotel and have been sent to the Veterinary Biological Research Institute and State Food Laboratories for further confirmation of bacterial load and biological test: chicken (raw & cooked) 10 kg, mutton (roast & cooked) 22 kg, crabs (raw) 10 kg, duck meat (cooked) 12 kg, fish (raw) 3 kg, rice (cooked) 2 kg and oil 2 kg.
