With the series of incidents of revenue authorities being caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths while accepting bribe from farmers , the district administration has decided to launch a damage control exercise and appealed to the people to approach the helpline set up to redress the grievances.

In a press note here on Tuesday, Joint Collector H. Arun Kumar said the people can dial 94901-62043, a helpline number for redress of their complaints, if any revenue official has been harassing them by demanding bribe for granting official favours.

Mandal officials to face the music

Expressing concern over the series of bribing incidents with village revenue officers as accused, the Joint Collector said that mandal level revenue officials had also failed to check the corruption at the village level. He said that they would take departmental action against the mandal level revenue officials for allowing the corrupt practice in the villages under their purview.
