Sangareddy: Medak Collector B. Venkatesam has urged the Gachibowli-based Indian School of Business to help 36, 000 strong self-help groups of the Medak district in marketing their products under the brand name of Sannihitha.

The Collector said this at the DRDA office on Friday, while interacting with a five-member student team from the premier School of Business, who arrived here to study the Sannihitha concept.

The Collector informed them that three lakh women of self-help groups had launched their own brand and were manufacturing products like detergents, sanitary napkins and incense sticks. He said that the district which had 6 lakh school and college going students would require at least 40 lakh note books and the women are ready to take up the challenge of manufacturing the note books. He explained the ISB students that the women could generate a minimum of Rs. 20 crores through this business proposition.

The students told the Collector that the pricing of the Sannihitha products was very competitive. Joint collector Vani Mohan and Project director Velugu Srinivasa Baba were also present.
