VISAKHAPATNAM: Sexual jealousy has led to the murder of a young housewife at the Ward Boys’ Colony at Salipeta in the wee hours of Tuesday.
N. Sunita alias Pavani married Durga Prasad of Salipeta on April 18 this year. Both Sunita and Durga Prasad had affairs before their marriage. Sunita used to discuss with her husband quite often her affair with her beau. Durga Prasad, who is a cycle mechanic at Salipeta, also had an affair prior to his marriage.

Late on Monday night, the couple reportedly quarrelled over some issue. Around 3 a.m., Durga Prasad picked up a cement flowerpot and hit his wife on her head resulting in her instantaneous death.
Two Town CI A. Narasimha Rao said that the accused carried his wife’s body on his shoulder and took her to the King George Hospital (KGH) in a bid to pass the buck on to someone else. She was declared ‘brought dead’ on reaching the KGH.
An inquest was conducted on the body. A case of sexual jealousy was registered against the accused. Durga Prasad and his mother were taken into custody. Mr. Narasimha Rao said that preliminary interrogation revealed the involvement of the accused in the murder.
