Untimely rains battered the temple town of Lord Venkateswara on Thursday for more than two hours.

Cloud burst

Pilgrims were subjected to severe hardships with the unforeseen cloud burst which hindered the movement of the darshan lines.

Water stagnation

Devotees who had finished the darshan of the presiding deity also could not emerge out of the temple complex due to the pouring rain which also resulted in stagnation of water at a couple of places inside the temple.

The downpour was so heavy that the temple authorities were rather forced to shift the venue of the Sahasra deepalankara seva (an arjitha seva performed daily in the evenings) to the Vaibhavotsava mandapam.
