As part of the ongoing ‘Jana Maitri' programme by the Police Department, a mega health camp was conducted under the aegis of Superintendent of Police C.M. Trivikrama Varma at Akumamidikota tribal hamlet near Maredumilli on Friday. A team of eight doctors consisting of paediatricians, gynaecologists and general physicians from the government hospitals in Kakinada and Rajahmundry and a few private hospitals conducted the health camp. Over 950 tribal people from Maredumilli, Y. Ramavaram and surrounding areas availed the camp, as the police operated special vehicles for the convenience of them. Food and medicines were also provided free of cost. City-based Durga Somu Prasad Charitable Trust provided the medicines.
Mr. Trivikrama Varma congratulated the Rampachodavaram ASP Navadeep Singh Gravel, Inspector G. Srinivas, and staff for their initiative.
He exuded confidence that such initiatives would bridge the gap between the police and the public.
