Hyderabad Cricket Association women’s selection committee chairperson Rajani Venugopal tendered her resignation on Wednesday for being allegedly being “humiliated” by joint secretary Purushotham Aggarwal over the issue of picking a player for the State team.
In a letter addressed to HCA president G. Vinod, Ms. Venugopal said she received a call from the official recommending selection of a player though the team was picked unanimously by the entire panel.
“I have represented the country and played this game with great dignity. I am being questioned about the selections by one official or the other who are no way concerned with the process. The entire episode has deeply hurt my conscience as such I have decided to resign,” Ms. Venugopal said.
