Justice Nooty Rama Mohan Rao of A.P. High Court on Thursday declared that orders would be pronounced on Friday in the writ petitions filed by students complaining against non-availability of application forms for management quota seats in private medical colleges in the State.
The judge wondered why such complaints regarding issuance of applications crop up every year.
It may be recalled that the judge had directed the colleges and the authorities not to finalise any admission into the management quota seats. These interim orders were passed in a batch of writ petitions on Tuesday.
Several writ petitions have been filed complaining that the authorities failed to reign-in errant private medical colleges who devised innovative methods to deny application forms to meritorious students. Several counsel for the managements appeared before Justice Nooty Rama Mohan Rao and submitted that application forms are freely available. One college told the court that the forms are in PDF file format and appropriate software was necessary for download. Students cannot complain if they fail to use the appropriate software.
