Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar of A.P. High Court on Thursday ordered notices on a writ petition filed seeking a direction to the Union Government to cancel the Padmashri title conferred on cine actors Mohan Babu and Brahmanandam. The Judge was dealing with a writ petition filed by Indrasena Reddy stating that the actors had violated the rules about the title. The Judge adjourned the matter for two weeks after ordering the notices.
Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar reserved orders in a writ petition challenging the action of the Enforcement Directorate for the attachment of Rs. 840 crore belonging to Mahindra Satyam.
It may be recalled that a sum of Rs. 840 crore which is lying in the bank accounts and subsequent to filing of the chargesheet in the Satyam fraud case, this attachment was effected. This was challenged by Mahindra Satyam. After the arguments were over, the orders were reserved.
The bail petition filed by Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy in the High Court has been adjourned to December 13. Justice B. Seshasena Reddy directed the CBI to respond to the issues raised by the petitioner, especially interpretation of the Judgment of the Apex Court. Arguments will resume on Thursday next.
