Punjab boys and Maharashtra girls teams bag the second positions

NALGONDA: In a rare achievement, Haryana boys and girls teams emerged winners in the 55th National School Games Kabaddi Championship (Under-17), which concluded here on Monday.

The Punjab boys and Maharashtra girls teams bagged the second positions in the respective categories. Andhra Pradesh Boys and Girls teams clinched the third spot.

The Haryana boys team trounced Punjab with a score of 20-12 in an exciting final match held at the 12th APSP battalion grounds at Anneparthy near Nalgonda. Andhra Pradesh boys team finished third by defeating Maharashtra 36-17.

In the girls section, the Haryana team clinched the top slot by defeating Maharashtra 58-27 in the finals. Andhra Pradesh team notched the third place by beating Tamil Nadu 24-23 in a keenly contested match.

Collector S.A.M. Rizvi presented the trophies to the members of the Haryana boys and girls teams on the occasion. He congratulated the organisers for conducting the national tournament within a short span of two days.

Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar and others were present.
