Sets the stage ablaze by singing popular numbers

KHAMMAM: It was a grand musical event for Khammam. Hariharan, who came all the way to sing for the people of the town, had a mesmerising effect on them and made the Sthambhadri Sambaralu - the festival of Khammam, a memorable one.

Playback singers Lalitha Sagari and Mani Nagaraj and flute Nagaraj joined him on the platform. The show, which is the first of its kind for the residents, had its own importance and hence all the roads led to the Taruni Haat, the venue. Undeterred by the traffic jams, thousands could make it to the place well in advance.

Mani Nagaraj, sung the opening song Vandemataram and cast her spell on the crowds with her mellifluous voice. Hahriharan, took over the centre stage, singing his popular numbers such as `Bham bham bole' (Indra), `Yamahanagari kalkattapuri' (Chudalanivundi), `Nelluri Nerajana' (Oke Okkadu).

He rendered an instant number - `Come to Khammam, come, come Khammam' responding to an invitation from the organisers for visiting the town again and again.
