GUNTUR: The Guntur police on Saturday nabbed three hired assassins, allegedly involved in the murder of a Hyderabad-based writer Borra Srinivasa Rao and also in five different cases at various places in the State.

Producing Gade Bhaskara Rao, 30, Gade Manindra 35 and Batchu Rajeswara Rao, 41, Guntur SP Mahesh Chandra Laddha told reporters that following the arrest of the three they could identify the Hyderabad-based writer, whose body was found in an irrigation drain at Gundam Thippa village near Repalle in Guntur district on January 10. The police did not have any clue so far on this murder, though Srinivasa Rao’s native village was Suryapalli near Bhattiprolu in Guntur district. Following interrogation of the three the police could elicit information on the murder and it was revealed that Batchu Rajeswara Rao, a realtor from Hyderabad, had hired the two to get Srinivasa Rao murdered for Rs.1 lakh as he was allegedly getting closer to Rajeswara Rao’s daughter. They had even taken up a contract for Rs.3 lakh to kill some person in Bommala Ramaram village near ECIL in Secunderabad, but the contract was not executed so far. They were involved in two other offences in West Godavari and Vijayawada, the SP said.
