The Gulf immigrants and their family members staged a dharna under the aegis of Indian Gulf immigrants’ rights and welfare forum in front of the Collectorate here on Tuesday demanding special package for the relief and rehabilitation of Gulf returnees.

Forum president K.Narasimha Naidu, general secretary L. Veeragopal and others participated in the dharna along with those who returned from the Gulf.

Expressing concern over the plight of the returnees and people living in the Gulf, they demanded that the government constitute a special Ministry for the welfare of Gulf immigrants.

They also sought ‘pavalavaddi’ loans to the returnees for their rehabilitation.
