The district administration heaved a sigh of relief following the smooth conduct of the APPSC Group II examination for the consecutive second day on Sunday.

The Paper-II and Paper-III examinations were conducted in two separate sessions at 46 test centres in and around the town on Sunday.

Large contingents of police were deployed at each examination centre as a precautionary measure to prevent any kind of disruption to the exams.

According to sources, a total of 8,336 candidates (74.60 per cent) appeared for the Paper-II examination held in the morning session.

As many as 8,321 candidates (74.46 per cent) wrote the Paper-III exam held in the afternoon.

In a statement, Collector Siddharth Jain lauded the team effort of the officials including the police personnel in successfully conducting the two-day Group-II examination without any hitch.
