  • Centre sanctions Rs. 27 crores for ICDP

ELURU: Karatam Rambabu, Chairman, District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB), on Saturday said West Godavari district was one of the five districts across the country chosen by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) for implementation of the `Grameen Tatkal Scheme' on a pilot basis. Addressing a press conference, he said the scheme provided for credit disbursement with family as a unit. It would address the credit requirements of the family and serve as a single window for disbursement of crop loans, term loans and consumption loans.

The scheme was likely to be implemented from December in the district, Mr. Rambabu said.

He informed that six branches of the DCCB - Nidadavole, Bhimavaram, Tadepalligudem, Koyyalagudem, Tanuku and Yarnagudem - were selected for implementing the scheme. Under each branch, 10-15 needy families would be picked up for disbursement of loans, with a maximum credit limit of Rs. 3 lakhs each, he added.
