HYDERABAD: The Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) in association with Police Department and a private security systems firm has evolved a GPRS-based technology to keep industrial and business activities of its members unaffected during agitations.

The body organised an interactive session for its members with police officers of Special Task Force on Industrial Security on Monday. Liaison officer of FAPCCI with the task force M.V. Rajeswara Rao said it was for the first time in the country an attempt was being made to develop a mechanism to safeguard the industry from disturbances.

Exhibiting the operation of “Omnipolis” gadget, chief general manger of Dee Cee Security Systems Larry Hatch said the business unit could press panic button in it in the event of trouble. The GPRS-based system would convey the message to the control rooms in Hyderabad and Cyberabad commissionerates and indicate the spot of trouble on digital maps arranged there.

Based on the location of trouble police personnel from the nearest point, a police station or a patrolling vehicle, would be rushed to the spot.
