HYDERABAD: Alarmed by the growing unrest among the student community in wake of TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s indefinite fast in Khammam, Ministers belonging to Telangana held a meeting with Home Minister P. Sabitha Indra Reddy to take stock of the situation.
As per the directions of Chief Minister K. Rosaiah, six Ministers -- J. Geeta Reddy, D. K. Aruna, V. Sunitha Laxma Reddy, R. Venkat Reddy, Danam Nagender, M. Mukesh Goud and D. Sridhar Babu --were closeted with the Home Minister to keep a close tab on KCR’s health condition, developments in Khammam and tension in other districts.
The meeting said to have deliberated on the pros and cons of shifting KCR to Hyderabad. The government appeared to be averse to bring him here fearing law and order problem. They also reviewed the agitation by students and felt the need to wait for some more days to see how the movement takes turn. Labour Minister R.Venkata Reddy was sent to Khammam to prevail upon KCR to call off his fast. On TRS leaders demand to shift him to Hyderabad, Ms. Sabitha Reddy told the media persons that the court alone could take a decision A delegation of JAC of Telangana Students met the Home Minister. Senior Congress leaders appealed to the AICC president to invite the TRS leaders for negotiations.
