They have several options now to ensure safety of their locked homes
VISAKHAPATNAM: Here is good news for families going out for summer vacation. Hitherto they used to be worried all the time about the safety of their locked homes. They have several options now to enjoy a carefree holiday.
“We have Zicom Access Control Systems that can ensure peace of mind to holidayers. The biometric locks can sense unauthorised persons (finger prints) trying to break open the lock and send a message to the company’s Central Monitoring System,” says the proprietor of Subhadra Engineering Agencies M. Ram Ganesh.
The individual systems are connected to Zicom’s Central Monitoring System in Mumbai, which works round the clock. The staff at the monitoring system call up the user, and when he fails to respond they call the other four telephone numbers given by him and pass on the message. When there is no response on all the five contact numbers given by the user, the message of unauthorised entry into the house would be passed on to the police (100) and pursued till they respond.
“Each unit sold will have a unique PIN number with which the customer’s details could be retrieved,” he says. The system costs Rs.7,000 but it’s no big deal considering the fact that losing gold ornaments can result in losses running into thousands of rupees.
There are CCTV systems that are equipped with box cameras with high night resolution, colour cameras, CCD mini dome cameras, digital video recorders and multi-functional keyboard controllers. The user can monitor his home from a remote location through the Internet portal. This is extremely useful to those who go out on long vacation along with their family. The cost of the CCTV systems ranges between Rs.24,000 and Rs.3 lakhs.
