The students were advised to improve their communication skills for better job prospects irrespective of their discipline.
V. Malla Reddy of Divis Laboratories was addressing students at the Sri Shivani College of Pharmacy as part of one-day orientation programme here on Monday. The Professor said that several students lack basic communication skills and hence fail to secure a job despite possessing good marks in their academics.
Dean of Pharmacy, A Raghu Rama Rao explained that there were many job opportunities for pharmacy graduates across the globe. However, not many succeed in getting excellent opportunities owing to poor communication skills both written and spoken. “Without basic skills of communication, you cannot go up in life whatever be the field. You need to possess good English language to interact with colleagues drawn from different countries in a multi-national company,” he pointed out. Earlier, college chairman Vaddiraj Venkateshwar Rao welcomed the gathering and explained about facilities being provided to the students. Principal A. Raghuram Reddy and others were present.
