Thieves broke into the locked house of a government teacher S. Chandrasekhar and his wife Gita in the posh V.T. Colony between 9 a.m. and noon and decamped with gold jewellery weighing 20 tolas.

According to Nalgonda Two Town police, the thieves first broke into the locked portion where a tenant was staying and made off with Rs.3,000. Since they could lay hands on valuables, they struck at the teacher's house. After rummaging through the rooms, the thieves broke open the almirah and took away the jewellery.
