VISAKHAPATNAM: A clean and green programme was conducted by NSS volunteers of Sri Gowri Degree and P.G. College at Kancharapalem on Monday.

Saplings planted

Former Minister Konathala Ramakrishna planted saplings to launch the programme.

He spoke on the importance of promoting greenery in the burgeoning city to minimise the impact of environmental pollution.

Call for awareness

College president K. Suryanarayana called for creating awareness among the people on the subject and to make them plant saplings in their gardens at home.

College correspondent D.K.A. Satyanarayana, treasurer V. Narasinga Rao, principal P. Narasimha Rao and NSS Programme Officers A. Nageswara Rao and M. Srinivasa Rao participated in the programme.
