Globalisation has changed the way people used to interact with nature and its surroundings opined Madanapalle Farmers Association Secretary M.C.V. Prasad.
Delivering the 15th Annual Memorial Lecture of Late T. Narayana Reddy, on the occasion of 22nd Foundation Day of the Institution of Engineers (India), at SVU Senate Hall here on Wednesday, Mr. Prasad expressed that common man has become a victim of globalisation right from food production to current purchasing patterns. His speech centred on the theme, ‘Living in harmony with nature’ compared the change in farming methodologies from the past to present. “Farmers are being fed false information and they have deviated from their traditional practices. This shift has lowered the priority of farming as an occupation,” he maintained.
Former Southern Discom CMD P. Gopal Reddy also spoke.
