GHMC's health sanitation wing has closed down five eating establishments in Banjara Hills and Punjagutta area for untidy conditions posing a danger to public health. Two other eat-outs are to be prosecuted and notices were issued to seven others to improve their cleanliness and hygiene.
The five eateries that were closed are: Mirchi Masala, Road No.1, Celebrations, KGN Fast Food, Road No.11, Golden Point Hotel and New Simhapuri Tiffin Centre, Panjagutta crossroads. The two being prosecuted are Simhapuri Deluxe Mess and Hotel Suprabath, Punjagutta crossoroads.
GHMC has advised the hotel managements to maintain their kitchen and premises in hygienic condition and obtain trade licenses. They should provide wholesome drinking water and serve freshly prepared food to the customers. Periodical inspections of all types of eating establishments too would be done, a press release said.
