Justice Nooty Ramamohana Rao of the High Court on Wednesday directed the owners of buildings, who have received demolition notices from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), to get their buildings verified with the experts for ascertaining the issue of structural stability.
The judge was dealing with a batch of petitions filed by owners and occupiers of the buildings. They said that the GHMC has whimsically issued notices to the buildings though they are strong.
Justice Ramamohana Rao said that the certificates from experts from JNTU will be placed before the GHMC and the civic body should take a final decision on demolition of those buildings after verifying certificates issued on structural stability.
The judge made it clear that the owners of the buildings will not to enter into those buildings which have been identified by the GHMC as structures fit to be demolished.
