Come Sankranti, kite-flying is the much awaited event for the enthusiasts. Nowadays, it is also topped with interesting themes.

Adding uniqueness to the celebrations, Rotary Club Visakhapatnam Central (RCVC) is all set for the colourful kite-flying festival with ‘unity in diversity’ as the theme on Beach Road on Sunday. Interestingly, this time the venue will see people from different communities like Marwaris, Rajasthanis and Keralites, among many would be joining the theme-based event.

People of all age-groups can take part in the festival on the Beach Road opposite to Viswapriya Function Hall, said one of the employees of Visakha Container Terminal Private Ltd (VCTPL) M.N. Rao. “The objective is to bring out the essence of the carnival roping people together and making them experience the cheerful spirit,” he explained.

RCVC president Suchil Mulchandani said that the kite festival during vacation time not only thrills people but also helps maintain old tradition and culture of celebration.

Employees of VCTPL along with their family members would be participating in the event. Those who are interested can join the colourful event with their own kites or can also buy at the stalls that would be put up at the venue for a nominal price.
