There is a rise in the number of gastrointestinal cases among children in Tirupati, remarked Apollo Children’s Hospital Pediatric Gastroenterologist Dhanasekhar Kesavelu.

Briefing the media about ‘Gastrointestinal problems in children’ along with Senior Consultant and Pediatric Urologist V. Sripathi, he said that many children in the town were suffering from jaundice, pancreatitis, stomach ulcers and food allergies. “The gastrointestinal problems among children are wide and varied in nature. They include trivial problems like uncomplicated vomiting and diarrhea to acute liver failure,” he added.

Dr. Dhanasekhar advised the people to cultivate healthy eating habits and avoid junk food.
