GUNTUR: The Lalapet police on Friday nabbed a four-member gang involved in black marketing of domestic gas cylinders and seized 11 cylinders from their possession.

The police also arrested three delivery boys on the charge of conniving with the gang.

Explaining the modus operandi of the gang, Guntur Town Deputy Superintendent of Police V. Rajendranath said that the delivery boys were diverting the gas cylinders meant for domestic use to the black market with the help of middlemen, where the cylinder was being sold for Rs.450, as against the original price of Rs.300.

Based on prior information, Lalapet police conducted surprise checks at Chowtra centre at Lalapet and arrested all the persons. The arrested included delivery boys, P. Venkateswara Rao, M. Yohan, Rambabu and the middle men.
