An inter-state gang of drug peddlers was arrested and 120 kg of ganja was seized from them by the District Police at Hukumpeta mandal in the agency area of the district. The accused were produced in court on Thursday.

The gang members are Prasanth Kumar Swen, Amit Bega, Bheemaprasad Bega Bhagaradhi Sundhar and Raghunath Malik of Odisha and one P. Subba Rao of Pamurai village of Hukumpeta mandal. They were arrested while they were involved in the transport of the ganja on Wednesday. The ganja, a car and two motorcycles used by the accused were seized from them.

The accused procured the drug from Subba Rao and packed it in gunny bags for Odisha in a car, according to Officer on Special Duty (Paderu) A.R. Damodar.
