Kidnappers’ gang abducts B.Sc first year student, demand Rs. 1 crore ransom
MAHABUBNAGAR: The district police nabbed two gangs – one involved in kidnapping and the other in robbery. The police also recovered 13.5 tolas of gold and 25 tolas of silver ornaments worth over Rs.2.2 lakh from the robbery gang.
While an Indica car and two motor bikes from the gang of kidnappers.
The timely action by police rescued a young girl.
Speaking to press persons here on Thursday, the Superintendent of Police G. Sudheer Babu informed that a gang of six persons abducted K. Sneha Latha (19) studying B.Sc first year in local Vivekananda Degree College on September 22 when she was returning home from college. As per the cell phone call the kidnappers demanded Rs. 1 crore for releasing the girl.
A complaint was lodged by the mother of the abducted girl at rural police station on Wednesday and police swung into action and issued instructions to other police stations including CCS.
A police team led by Circle Inspector and Sub-Inspector rushed to Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station at Hyderabad and apprehended two persons Nagamoni Janardhan and Godugu Ramulu after laying a trap.
In the interrogation they revealed that they, along with Venkatesh, Anjaneyulu and Chandra Shekar, hatched a plan and kidnapped the girl for a ransom.
They locked up the girl in a shed in agriculture field at Kaveramma Peta village near Jadcherla town.
The police rushed to Kaveramma Peta and rescued the girl and arrested the other accused. In the second case, the Shadnagar police in the district nabbed a gang of four Lambada youth involved in robbery.
The Circle Inspector of Shadnagar P. Srinivas Reddy along with his men apprehended Mudavath Balya, Mudavath Venkatesh, V. Hanumanthu and Pathlavath Devya on Wednesday while they were moving under suspicious circumstances on National Highway-7 on interrogation they confessed that they wanted to earn money easily by committing property offences.
The gang was involved in 11 cases including a murder.
The police recovered gold and silver ornaments worth Rs.2.2 lakh from their possession.
The SP lauded Circle Inspectors Maheshwar, Venkat Reddy, Ch.Rameshwar and Shadnagar Circle Inspector P.Srinivas Reddy and other police personnel for solving the kidnapping case in a short time and putting their best efforts in arresting the accused.
