NIZAMABAD: Senior leader G. Ganga Reddy who resigned from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi recently, met the Pradesh Congress Committee president D. Srinivas here on Sunday at the latter’s residence.
He is likely to join the Congress formally on Monday. Though both the leaders were reluctant to talk to the media the followers of Mr. Reddy said that it was a courtesy calls. It may be recalled here that Mr. Ganga Reddy made some allegations on the TRS leadership before quitting the party. The seventh division Corporator Sudam Lakshmi (TRS) was also with Mr. Reddy when he arrived at the PCC president’s residence.
Mr. Ganga Reddy quit the TRS as he was reportedly vexed at the party leadership for not granting party ticket for his son to contest from Nizamabad rural constituency apart from his candidature to the Parliament.
In the seat sharing adjustment in the mahakootami formed with TRS, TDP and the Left the TRS had to give up the constituency to TDP in alliance.
The TDP senior leader and former Minister Mandava Venkateswar Rao filed his nomination from the constituency yesterday.
