Website launched for The Hindu E-Plus competition

The most awaited event among college students, The Hindu Education Plus Challenge -2013, was announced in the city on Thursday. A websitewww.epluschallenge.comincorporating all details about the event was formally launched at a meeting of E-plus coordinators.

Registration for participation in the event will be done online. The regional host college this year is Avanthi College of Engineering and Technology, Makavarapalem. Grafx IT Solutions Pvt Ltd will be the knowledge partner. The regional finals will be held on February 22. Participating teams can start registering their names through their respective college coordinators or principals.

Registration of names can be made till February 17. The event is an inter-collegiate competition to test the soft skills and will be held in Hyderabad, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam regions and the three top teams from each region will compete at the State level competition to be held at Vijayawada on February 24.

The Hyderabad region event, to be held on February 20, is sponsored by the Teegala Krishna Reddy group of institutions, while the Vijayawada region event, to be held on February 24, is sponsored by Siddartha Academy who is the hosts for the State round as well. The competition will have events like quiz, group discussion, elocution, paper presentation and an on stage creative round. Each college team, consisting of 30 students, will participate in all the five events and their performance will be graded by an independent panel of judges who will award points.

The aggregate of these points will determine the first, second and third winners of each region.

The winners at the regional level will get cash awards and certificates of participation while the State-level winners will walk away with handsome cash prizes and a trophy.

Cash awards will also be given to winners in each discipline.
