The common man is already burdened with heavy electricity tariffs and the FSA charges have only added to his agony. One is forced to pay higher power tariffs due to irregular billings. In Madhusudhan Nagar colony of Malkajgiri, the CPDCL bill collectors came on June 3 and issued the bills, while the next reading was taken on July 13. This additional 10 days is likely to inflate the power consumption and move it to the next slab, resulting in higher charges for no fault of the consumer. I request the authorities to look into the matter.
D. Subba Rao,
‘G’ Block dangerous
The ‘G’ Block of Secretariat has old heavy roofs resting on the walls which could prove to be dangerous. Further, the block is not accessible to the public and hence it cannot be converted into a library or museum. There was a proposal to demolish the structure during my tenure as Chief Engineer (R&B) in 1984-89, but somehow this could not be carried out at that time.

Run Metro on April 16
Hyderabad Metro Rail is planning to run its first train in March 2015 instead of December 2014. It is but natural looking to the works involved and the ‘high standard of construction’. In such a case, HMR should instead schedule its first run April 16 as the first train on Indian Railways was run on this day in 1853.
K. Bhaskar Rao,
Expedite pipeline works
The Water Board has dug up the lane behind veterinary hospital in New Bhoiguda to lay new stormwater pipelines about a fortnight ago. Because of this the entire road before the apartment complex is completely blocked with mounds of earth causing numerous problems to the residents. And with intermittent rains, the work getting held up has made living unbearable. I request authorities to expedite the work and bring an end to this misery.
