HYDERABAD: Thousands of Muslims from different parts of the city participated in Jummat-ul-vida, the last Friday prayers in Ramzan month, at Mecca Masjid.
Prayers began at 1.05 p.m. and lasted till 1.25 p.m.
This will be followed by Shabb-e-Qader (Jagnekirat) on Friday night.
The police had made elaborate security arrangements for the peaceful conduct of prayers.
The main roads at Charminar, Madina, Murgi Chowk and Moghalpura Kaman were closed for vehicular traffic. Traffic was allowed only after 3 p.m.
APSRTC buses were diverted through alternative routes.
