The Godavarikhani Two town police have unfolded the mystery behind the suspicious death of a 17-year-old with the arrest of four youth belonging to the coal belt region on Wednesday.

Disclosing this to newsmen, Godavarikhani Two Town Inspector R. Prakash said that on May 23, a local youth, Md. Waseem (17), was killed and buried on the shores of river Godavari in the coal belt region. On May 26, the police noticed the dead body and registered a case under suspicious death of an unknown person. After around 25 days, the parents of the deceased approached the police station and identified the victim. Later, the police launched a manhunt and arrested four accused Md Badhar (17), A. Raju (16), Md Afroze (17) and B. Karthik (17) and produced them before the court on Wednesday.

The CI said that Waseem and Badhar were friends and both went to Hyderabad in search of employment but were unable to get jobs. Later, Waseem starting working as a cleaner for a lorry. Badhar was working as a construction labourer. Badhar purchased a cell phone from Waseem at a cost of Rs. 500. Inspite of paying the amount, Waseem frequently kept pressing him about the money.

Badhar developed a grudge against Waseem and decided to eliminate him. At a liquor party on the shores of river Godavari on May 23, when Waseem raised the issue of Rs. 500, Badhar took out his knife and tried to stab him. Waseem tried to escape. At this juncture, Afroze hit him with a beer bottle on his head. Another person, Raju, took the knife and slit Waseem’s throat. Later, they buried the body and escaped.
