The Dummugudem police have claimed to have arrested two persons, including a Maoist militia member, and recovered a camera flash from their possession at Arlagudem in the early hours of Thursday. In a related development, the Charla police arrested three alleged Maoist militia members and a courier near Tippapuram late on Wednesday night.
According to the Venkatapuram CI Prasad Rao, local police and CRPF personnel arrested B. Narayana, a Maoist militia member of Chhattisgarh, and Satyanarayana, a Maoist sympathiser of Charla mandal, during a vehicle checking. “The team recovered a camera flash from the duo. The duo confessed that they had purchased the camera-flash from a shop in Vijayawada for handing over to the rebels as per the instructions of the Maoist area committee leaders,” the CI said. Three Maoist militia members – Madivi Rama, Sodi Ganga and M. Chukkodu of Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh, besides courier – Konda Babu of Charla mandal in Khammam, were apprehended near Tippapuram, he said.
