A house in Pulivendula town and three houses in Tallapaka village in Rajampet mandal were burgled in the early hours of Wednesday.

Burglars broke into the house of a banana trader, Putushotham, on Venkateswara street in Pulivendula town and stole 222 grams of gold ornaments while the residents had locked the house and were sleeping on the terrace. Pulivendula DSP Harinath Babu inspected the house.

Meanwhile, burglars gained entry into three locked houses in Tallapaka village and stole 75 grams of gold ornaments and silk sarees from the house of Sailaja and 35 grams of gold and Rs. 15,000 from Subramanyam’s house. They also broke the lock of Nagasubbamma’s house but did not find any valuables, police said. Mannur in-charge Sub-Inspector Venkataiah Naidu inspected the houses and registered cases.
