All the accused were below 20 years of age, according to Assistant Commissioner of Police (North) B. Prasada Rao.

In a separate case, the Gopalapatnam police arrested one A. Kamaraju of Koyyuru in the district for stealing three motorbikes in the city and two motorbikes in the neighbouring districts. The accused had stolen the vehicles parked at various places. The accused were involved in the theft of mobile phones in Jharkhand and Odisha also.

In all, five motorbikes and 14 mobile phones were recovered by the police.
