Four students of an engineering college were arrested by the Three Town police on the charge of ragging their juniors.

The accused who were B. Tech second year students went to a shopping mall at Maddilapalem on Wednesday night. They saw around 10 of their juniors shopping at the mall. The seniors reportedly ragged their juniors and even forced them to part with their cash, according to Three Town inspector Lakshmana Murthy.

On a complaint filed by the victims, the accused were arrested on Wednesday night.

A case was registered against the accused under Section IV of Andhra Pradesh Prohibition of Ragging Act, 1997. The accused were produced in the Fourth Additional Chief Metropolitan Court on Thursday.

It is learnt the judge dismissed the bail petition.
