KURNOOL: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy is understood to have sounded party MLAs - Challa Ramakrishna Reddy and Katasani Rambhupal Reddy - over induction of former MLA Bijjam Pardhasaradhi Reddy into the Congress.

Since the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) scored a victory by inducting the cousin of Katasani Rami Reddy into the party, the Congress, too, wanted to neutralize the impact by taking the former MLA into its fold.

Dr. Reddy posed the question to the two MLAs during a meeting at Nallakalva village near Atmakur on Thursday. The two were understood to have not raised an objection to the proposal.

Also, the Chief Minister promised house-sites to 400-odd families at Velugodu. Dr. Reddy promised to clear all lift irrigation schemes in the area and improve agriculture in the villages of Atmakur constituency.
