Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, S.V. Kumar, paid a visit to the Seshachalam bio-lab in Kapila Theertham compound here, on Friday.

He formally released a biopesticide ‘trichoderma asperella’ developed by the bio-lab in association with Dr. R.D. Prasad, principal scientist with the Directorate of Oil Seeds. He directed that the product be used to protect all saplings from pests in forest nurseries.

Mr. Kumar also launched a website on ‘Seshachala Vanadarshini’ to throw light on eco-tourism projects like Mamandur and Talakona in Tirupati Wildlife Division as well as to enable advance bookings for accommodation at the guest houses.

Conservator of Forest P.V. Chalapathi Rao, DFO T. Chakrapani and the lab in-charge N.V. Sivaram Prasad were present.
