P. Suryanarayana Murthy, senior advocate and J. Kaleswara rao, chartered accountant, have jointly appealed to the judiciary to follow the amended Civil Procedure Code (CPC) for speedy justice.

While addressing media conference in Rajahmundry on Saturday they said that the original CPC which was enacted during 1908, was amended during the year 2002 and the amended procedure would help settle civil cases within six months, avoiding the delay in settling the civil cases.

Basing on this amendment the defendant would be given 30 days for filing counter reply which otherwise be given a maximum of 90 days in exceptional cases.

By following this process, while dealing the civil cases, a maximum of five to six months would be sufficient to settle the cases, they added.
