TIRUMALA: The Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Panabaka Lakshmi on Sunday expressed concern over the greater incidence of foeticide in urban as against rural areas. She said the government has formed special teams to monitor the activities of scanning centres throughout the country and action is being taken against erring professionals.

In reply to a question, she said that the alleged reports that people living in agency areas were not receiving proper medical care wrong as the government has deputed medical experts and supplied required medicines in abundance to these areas.

The minister who reached Tirumala on Saturday offered prayers in the hill temple.
