Union Tourism Secretary Parvez Dewan said on Wednesday that he would submit a comprehensive report to the Centre on development of tourism in Kadapa district.

Mr. Dewan visited Ameen Peer Dargah, popular as Pedda Dargah, along with District Collector K. Sasidhar, placed a floral chaadhar on the Mazhar and offered prayers. Dargah secretary Syed Ameer and representative Nayeem explained to Mr. Dewan about the significance of the Dargah. The Secretary addressed a meeting along with Minister for Minority Welfare Mohd. Ahmedullah in Ameen memorial hall on the Dargah premises.

Sajjad-e-Nasheen of Pedda Dargah Hazrath Khwaja Syed Sha Arifullah Mohammed Hussaini gave a presentation of the Dargah activities and sought provision of facilities and development in and around the Dargah. Thereafter, General Manager of District Industries Centre G. Gopal gave a power-point presentation on the ancient Gandikota fort in Jammalamadugu constituency.

The Collector urged Mr. Parvez Dewan to chalk out a master plan for the development of Gandikota fort and sanction a botanical garden, theme park, butterfly parking and suspension bridge in the fort for the convenience of tourists. Mr. Ahmedullah urged the Secretary to sanction funds for tourism development in Kadapa district.

Later Mr. Dewan told newsmen that he visited Pedda Dargah in Kadapa on the directions of Union Minister for Tourism and Culture K. Chiranjeevi and enquired about the scope for development of Gandikota fort. He said he would submit a report to the Union Government on development of Pedda Dargah and Gandikota fort as tourism destinations.

Chandramouleeswara Reddy, Panchayat Raj Superintending Engineer Jagat Kumar, District Grandhalaya Samstha chairman G. Ramakoti Reddy, Kadapa tahsildar Srinivasulu and Congress leader B. Hariprasad participated.
