Airtel launches business zone office in Kurnool

KURNOOL: Bharati Airtel, an important mobile service provider in the State, launched new business zone office here on Monday. The new office will cover Kurnool, Anantapur, Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda districts where the company has a customer base of 10 lakhs.

Addressing a meeting, Chief Executive Officer Elango, who is in-charge of company operations in Andhra Pradesh, said the new office would focus on improving the quality of service. The central office at Hyderabad might not be able to focus on the local problems, which necessitated them to start the business zonal office. Apart from Kurnool, the zonal offices were functioning at Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati and Warangal.

Mr. Elango said Airtel had nearly 800 cell tower sites in the zone which would be increased to 1,200 by the end of the financial year. The increased number of sites would enhance the quality of service. Before the end of this month, 78 more sites were planned.

Mr. Elango said Kurnool was an important centre from the point of volume of business. He said Airtel would not lag behind in offering the latest products to consumers in the arena of mobile phone.

Mr. C.V. Raju was named the Zonal Business Manager for Kurnool. Rajnish Kaul, COO of the company was also present at the press meet.
